There are many stories of men who learned to play fairy-music. A man I knew in Co. Antrim, when I was a child, claimed that he had learned a tune from the fairies. It was a dance tune and he said that no one could sit still and listen to it; it compelled people to dance. (Foster, Ulster 72)
